About the Opportunity:

Sequoia Transitional Care in Porterville, CA is looking for compassionate and reliable Patient Sitters to join our care team! This is a great opportunity for individuals who want to provide one-on-one support and safety monitoring to residents in a skilled nursing facility.

This position is a 90-day temporary contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance and facility needs.
Available Shifts:


* PM Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM


* NOC Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
( Full-Time Position )

Responsibilities:


* Provide constant observation and supervision to assigned residents to ensure safety


* Prevent falls, injuries, or wandering of at-risk residents


* Offer companionship and emotional support


* Assist with non-clinical needs like repositioning, comfort measures, and call light response


* Report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff immediately


* Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and respect at all times


* Follow infection control and facility safety protocols


* Maintain accurate observation documentation if required


* Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors


* Adhere to facility policies and procedures

Qualifications:


* High School Diploma or GED required


* Previous experience in healthcare or as a patient sitter preferred (but not required)


* Must have a compassionate and patient-centered attitude


* Strong observation and communication skills


* Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods


* Must pass background check and health screening


* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
