Concrete Finisher

JOB DESCRIPTION

Must have at least 2 years' experience as a journeyman concrete finisher; preferred experience in heavy highway, road & bridge construction projects; must pass pre-employment drug testing and must be available for overtime including weekends.

Pay is $27 - $32 per hour DOE.

Work schedule 40 - 58 hours and anticipated project duration is approximately 1.5 years'.

Job Summary

Plan, lay-out and perform all types of Concrete work in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Knowledge of how to use concrete tools such as but not limited to a bull float, trowel, edger, and concrete vibrator.

Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.

Produce high quality work, safely and productively at all times.

Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment, and information is available for the work.

Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means, and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others and continually seek opportunities to share knowledge and teach others.

High proficiency in all related trade mathematics.

Inspect subordinates work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies and take any necessary corrective action.

Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.

Minimum Job Requirements

Must have a minimum of one year (level I), two years (level II), three years (level III) and four years (Sr.) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the carpentry trade.

Must be willing to travel to other states.

Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards, and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.

Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
