Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician I will provide technical expertise in all aspects of laboratory equipment.
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for following all regulatory requirements, maintenance procedures, common safe mechanical guidelines and good housekeeping practices while performing their duties.
The Maintenance Technician I will give technical advice to users and staff regarding the proper use and care of lab equipment.
Education and experience requirements:
Required:
* Minimum 2 years of experience providing maintenance support
* High School Diploma or GED
Preferred (Not Required):
* Experience troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating equipment in a laboratory environment
* Bachelors or Associates Degree
* Applicable trainings / certifications in building maintenance, equipment repair, good laboratory practices or similar
Essential Duties:
General
* Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all laboratory equipment
* Maintain and operate Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS)
* Recommend new equipment to meet laboratory needs
* Assist in facility maintenance functions
* Maintain maintenance procedure files
* Monitor in-house (RO/DI) Water system
* Maintain in-house vacuum, air supply, and emergency power systems

Work Environment:
* This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, telephones, photocopiers, projectors and file cabinets.
* May occasionally work in temperatures above 95 degrees and below 32 degrees.
* May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
* Will climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis during each shift.
* Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
Physical requirements:
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and assist in moving heavy equipment, etc.
* More than 75% of time spent walking, lifting, or working on equipment.
* Wear personal protective equipment such as hoods, lab coats, safety glasses, goggles, gloves, facemasks, shoe coverings, and respiratory equipment as applicable.
* Climb up onto and down from equipment.
* Climb up and down ladder.
* Able to manipulate small hand tools.
