Mechatronics Intern

We are seeking a Mechatronics Intern to join our Pueblo, Colorado team for the summer of 2025. This individual will learn how to operate in a real mill setting and interact with plant personnel, as well as external suppliers and contractors to execute manufacturing based projects.


* Must passionately follow health and safety practices


* Maintain, analyze, and draft reports related to data and performance


* Interact with all levels of personnel and communicate professionally in written and verbal form


* Read electrical schematics and perform electrical assembly


* Pneumatic component and controls assembly


* Safety protocol and sensors including light curtains


* PLC programming


* Sourcing and purchasing automation components


* Electro mechanical diagnostic activity


* Working with production to implement new equipment


* Vision System programming to replace human Inspection


* Plan and document control system design, test, verification and maintenance documents


* Maintain good attendance and perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements


* Pursuing a technical engineering degree


* Strong written and oral communication skills


* Computer literate in Microsoft Suite and Power BI


* Heavy industrial experience, preferred


* Be curious and eager/open to learning new skills


* Ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity, preferred


* Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment, which will include inside and outside environmental conditions

Term


* May-August 2025, following commencement of Spring Semester

Compensation


* Undergraduate experience $22.55 - $24.72 per hour


* Graduate experience $25.41 - $26.17 per hour
