Consulting Associate, Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance Generalist (Entry Level)

ERM is seeking a motivated Consulting Associate, Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance Generalist to join our global consulting firm.

In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers and Partners on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance, sustainability, remediation, and due diligence transaction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, sustainability, site investigation and remediation, and due diligence transaction projects.


* Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and wastewater programs. 


* Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.


* Support the development of EHS compliance and management system programs.


* Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance as needed.


* Conduct environmental field work, including groundwater, soil, sediment, and surface water sampling.


* Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.


* Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to deliver exceptional client value on projects.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or related discipline.

Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Or equivalent experience.


* 0 to 2 years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships.


* Strong commitment to safety, and ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and in challenging terrain.


* Detail-oriented with excellent critical thinking and trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills.


* Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.


* Experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports and building tables and spreadsheets (including tabulation and manipulation of data).


* Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant: team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality.
