Compliance Specialist II

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Understand and ensure compliance of ALLETE Clean Energy with applicable regulations, permits, and contracts, as well as company operating policies and procedures.


* Assist in the development, maintenance, and revisions of policies and procedures for the general operation of the company's compliance program.


* Responsible for the recordkeeping of permits, contracts, and required compliance documents.


* Track compliance with permit and contract obligations, and distribution of required reports per contract agreements.


* Keep current on issues and trends that contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's compliance program.


* Integrate existing technology applications and platforms into compliance program processes to effectively manage and organize documentation.


* Coordinate with legal, risk management, accounting, finance and other functions as necessary.


* Requires a highly self-motivated individual with attention to detail and excellent interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain working relationships throughout the company and to motivate others to contribute to the company's overall culture of compliance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


* Bachelor's degree PLUS four years or more contract administration work experience or related equivalent experience.
OR


* Associates Degree/Paralegal Certification PLUS six years or more contract administration experience or related equivalent experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


* This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE's needs.

A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office.

This position will report to Duluth, MN.


* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Word, Excel and SharePoint required.

Ability to effectively handle time critical issues and meet goals despite unexpected setbacks, obstacles, or time constraints.


* Strong planning, organization, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral ad written communication skills.
