The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality food service to residents by assisting with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities vary based on shift activity, and the role requires efficiency, teamwork, and attention to sanitation standards.

What You'll Do:


* Learn food service routines quickly and efficiently.


* Set up and prepare meal trays for residents.


* Assist in serving meals.


* Clear and sanitize returned trays; operate the dishwasher.


* Monitor and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine.


* Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles to ensure compliance with safety standards.


* Prepare and distribute snacks and nourishments.


* Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.


* Properly store groceries in an organized and sanitary manner.


* Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and other kitchen equipment.


* Ensure the kitchen is left in a clean and sanitary condition after each shift.


* Participate in orientation and ongoing training for dietary staff.


* Foster positive and cooperative working relationships with staff across all departments.

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent required.


* Must obtain a food handlers license.


* Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


* Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation.


* Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
