The Entry Level Construction Materials Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing a variety of Construction Materials Laboratory testing and project specific observations under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you'll do:


* Performs Construction Materials Laboratory Testing services


* Creates reports and enters data gathered from laboratory tests and observations


* Handles laboratory equipment, including calibrations and keeping track of maintenance


* Physical laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with DSA, AASHTO Caltrans and ASTM procedures


* Audit & accreditation support and administration


* Performs other duties as required

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


* High School Diploma or equivalent


* Valid driver's license and reliable driving record


* Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed


* Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance


* Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound


* Ability to kneel and squat occasionally


* Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time


* Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures


* Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights


* Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:


* Construction Materials Laboratory Testing experience


* ACI Certification
