Service Engineer - IoT & Digital

About the position

This position is for IoT Service Representative (SR) in Services India Organization who will be accountable for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing customer equipment.

SR will maintain, retrofit, and provide technical support for all Schneider products, both in the shop and on site.

Work on competitive equipment may also be part of the role.

SR will instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

SR will provide technical instruction and guidance to new and less experienced SR.

Maintain service equipment, tools and documentation.

Identify sales opportunities and submit them to sales teams in the system.

Any intervention will have to be prepared and executed in respect of safety guidelines (prevention plan, protection equipment etc.)

Roles and responsibilities


* Advise customers on different opportunities to optimize its install base and create lead generation business opportunities.


* Leads or contributes to Services small projects coordination and execution on customer site (end of life, modernization, upgrade, ...).


* Perform basic audits of customer's electrical systems and equipment.


* Understand Eco-struxure offer and provide technical explanation to Customers.


* Document all required information for each site (technical report).


* Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of equipment to the designated disposal/repair location.


* Develop innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during start-up.


* Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.


* Assist Schneider Electric Service Partners in site visits, evaluating technical and professional performance.


* When at customer site, looks for other business opportunities outside current scope of work and lead them to the sales team.


* Is in permanent coordination with his/her planner/coordinator for smooth execution of on-site activities.


* Will escalate to Services technical expert in the countries as needed when unable to solve a technical issue.


* Perform Services Operations by providing best in class customer experience and promote Schneider signature.


* Must comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Skills required


* Must have knowledge of electrical protection system.


* Knowledge of SCADA communication will be an added advantage.


* Must have knowledge of Electrical equipment safety parameters & it's operation philosophy.


* Must have knowledge of relay, it's setting etc.


* Must have knowledge of switchgear, transformer & Motor operation & industry application.


* Must have knowledge of Modbus/Profibus communication & IEC 61850 protocol.


* Must have knowledge of Ethernet switch, Gateway, Router & it's application in digital network.
