Real Property Agent III
The County of Riverside's Facilities Management department has a vacancy for a Real Property Agent III assigned to the Real Estate Division located in Riverside.
The Real Property Agent III will perform difficult and complex appraisals, negotiations for acquisition, sale, or lease of real property, relocation assistance, space management studies, and real property management; to coordinate real property activities with representatives of other County departments and agencies; and to do other work as required.
Real Property Agent III is the journey level in the Real Property Agent series.
Incumbents report to a Supervising Real Property Agent and perform the full scope of assignments in real property acquisition, negotiation, appraisal, lease, sale, or space management, requiring the highest level of technical proficiency.
This class is distinguished from the next higher level of Senior Real Property Agent in that the latter is the lead level in the Real Property Agent series.
Promotion to the Senior Real Property Agent class is achieved through the competitive recruitment process.
Meet the Team! Riverside County Department of Facilities Management provides property management and operations services for county owned and leased facilities throughout the 7,200 square miles of Riverside County and over 14 million square feet of space.
The department is responsible for keeping county buildings safe, comfortable and productive for both county staff and the public.• Performs complex appraisals and negotiations for acquiring, selling, or leasing real property and rights-of way.
• Negotiates leases of facilities for County use or for use of county facilities by other firms or agencies.
• Secures, examines, and interprets title reports on property to be acquired and directs the preparation and execution of necessary documents to secure clear title; directs the preparation of deeds, reconveyances, agreements, and other documents involving property acquisition, sale, or leases.
• Conducts negotiations for the purchase, sale, lease, or donation of property; prepares alternate appraisals based on relocation of improvements.
• May make presentations to the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission; may represent the Department at public meetings.
• Performs relocation assistance; disposes of surplus property; and may participate in the training of other real property personnel.Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's Degree, preferably with major coursework in economics, business or public administration, or a closely related field.
(Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on the basis of one year of full-time experience equaling 30 semester or 45 quarter units of education.)
