DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Conduct quantitative analyses of information involving investment programs or financial data of public/private institutions in Latin America (LATAM), including valuation of businesses.
Perform credit analysis, financial modelling, valuation, and pricing of financial instruments.
Underwrite financing transactions to corporates through bridge/term loans, project finance, receivable/contract monetization, acquisition financing, and dividend recaps.
Provide bespoke secured financing solutions to financial institutions including repos, TRS, fund financings, and securitizations using a variety of liquid and illiquid assets as collateral.
Draft investment materials and memos for LATAM region clients in Spanish, and perform internal due diligence.
Perform risk management of existing book positions including liquid and illiquid collateral pricing and margining, corporate credit analysis for loan marking, and macro hedge correlation analysis.
Provide liquidity in Emerging Markets hard currency debt to clients, including asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, and hedge funds.
Use the Spanish language to engage with internal and external stakeholders in the LATAM region and to source deals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Associate (Finance), Markets Analyst, Sales and Trading Analyst, or related occupation (experience can be gained pre- or post-Bachelor's degree).
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following skills: investment banking, investments, or markets front office; accounting; finance; financial transaction lifecycle; financial modeling in MS Excel; Bloomberg Analytics; VBA; credit analysis; sovereign balance sheet analysis; distressed debt analysis; risk analysis; credit products including bond math and credit derivatives; trading book profit and loss analysis; articulating financing structures and solutions; and liaising with senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders.
This position requires experience with the following asset class products: Latin America Fixed Income and Credit markets; Structured Products (including Credit Linked Notes, Convertibles, and Total Return Swaps); Derivatives (including Listed Options, Over-the-Counter, Credit Derivatives, Asset Swaps, Credit Spread Options and Bonds, Non-deliverable Forwards, Cross-Currency Swaps, and Interest Rate Swaps).
Experience in the skills can be gained pre- or post-Bachelor's degree.
This position requires oral, auditory, and written fluency in the Spanish language.
