Head Chef - FT- Holiday Inn West Perth

So, we’re searching for a Head Chef with a palate for serving up dishes that will create moments of delight.

Whenever and wherever our guests choose to dine.

Behind the scenes, you’ll ensure quality, maintain high standards and keep the kitchen running smoothly.  

In this role, the Head Chef will have the creativity and freedom to express themselves/their cooking style, and will be part of a tight-knit family-like environment.  

Located within walking distance to Kings Park, Holiday Inn West Perth is IHG’s first Perth property outside of the City Centre.

Part of the hotel’s charm is the former 1902 Walsh Family residence which sits at the front of the property as a destination restaurant, Julio’s Italian Restaurant.  

Julio’s is Perth's favourite award-winning Italian restaurant where you are welcomed by a passionate team, and can enjoy an Italian cicchetti menu, fresh house made pasta, and a spread of hearty mains.

Julios offers boutique coffee, a la carte breakfast, private dining/small conference functions, a casual lunch with colleagues during the week, or a relaxed dinner with friends and family.

Julio’s is seen bustling on Friday evenings with live music and local produce tastings at their “Live @ Julio’s” events.  

A little taste of your day-to-day: 


* Fostering and leading a positive work environment for all employees. 



* Directing daily kitchen activities as well as coaching and developing a team capable of catering to more than 100 people. 



* Encouraging and addressing guest feedback. 



* Ensure hotel operating standards and applicable laws and regulations are followed. 



* Demonstrate and coach teams with your excellent product knowledge of both culinary disciplines as well as best kitchen practice. 



* Ensure efficient and effective performance in ordering, keeping fair stock levels and minimizing waste. 



* Work with department managers to develop initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest and colleague experience. 



* Working alongside our Venue Manager in planning the smooth running of events. 



* Review monthly forecasts and schedule resources accordingly. 



* Monitor staffing to manage costs. 



* Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done. 

 

What we need from you: 

Current experience in a Head Chef position or be an experienced & motivated Sous Chef.  

Experience in catering for up to 100 people.  

Candidates MUST have Australian working rights.
