Maintenance - Maintenance Helper

Job Duties


* Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from workstations and other areas.


* Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.


* Install or replace machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.


* Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.


* Hold or supply tools, parts, equipment, and supplies for other workers.


* Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures, and other objects for assembly or installation, using hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment.


* Adjust, maintain, repair tools, equipment, and machines, and assist skilled workers with similar tasks.


* Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.


* Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.


* Assemble and maintain physical structures, using hand or power tools.


* Load/unload trucks as necessary.


* Change bucks and repair racks as required.


* Facility painting (roof, floor, outside curbs, outside/inside structures, etc.)


* Complete preventative maintenance (PM) items (storm, drain, machine, Hilo, etc.

as assigned)


* Move items in plant as needed; visit offsite warehouse to move, consolidate items and/or etc.

as assigned.


* General facility maintenance (inside and out) such as sweeping/blowing clean rack yard, sweeping area by silos/parking lot; changing light bulbs, deciding building (winter), hanging/replacing signs, clean/repair rollers, etc.


* Complete forklift inspections and checklists.


* Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area in accordance with company standards.


* Alert supervisor, manager or team leader if complications or defects occur.


* Document all activities as required.



* Provide support and maintain compliance with all company guidelines, union contracts, IATF, ISO14001, and all applicable government regulations and standards.


* Maintain 5S Standards for department.


* Any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management.

 Requirements


* Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent. Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.

Previous manufacturing experience preferred.


* Knowledge of customer needs, meeting quality standards for products and services.


* Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture, assembly and distribution of goods.
