Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Mentor and advise multiple technical teams and move financial technologies forward.

Serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams.

Anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm.

Influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks.

Execute decisions that influence the teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.

Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.

Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teams.

Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Advisor, Software Development, IT Associate/Consultant, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technical Advisor, Software Development, IT Associate/Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Linux; Agile SDLC; Microservices; Spring Boot; Java; SQL; REST; Java Build Systems; Splunk; GIT; Junit; NFR testing; Cloud native development; Infrastructure as code, Event driven services, Kubernetes, Amazon Compute, S3 Block storage; NoSQL data storage; Relational databases; Application logging and metrics; Identity and access management; and Gateway patterns.
