Job Description:

Key Responsibilities 



* Key Responsibilities 


* Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot industrial control systems, including instrumentation and power distribution.


* Performs PLC programming, troubleshooting and program documentation.


* A strong understanding of our equipment and the systems and processes.


* The ability to quickly troubleshoot, diagnose and solve electrical and process control issues is crucial


* Maintain effective communication with team members, other departments and management to report on progress, issues and resource requirement needs.


* Ability to handle unexpected issues and adapt to changing circumstances is vital in day-to-day mill needs.


* Work within a team environment to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks to minimize downtime.


* Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the maintenance department.

A commitment to ongoing learning and process improvement.


* Work Duties include execution of electrical and controls repair duties.


* Repairing and replacing process control and electrical equipment (valves, transmitters, communication networks, DCS, wiring medium and low voltage, running conduit, etc.).


* Familiar with the National Electric Code Safety, OSHA electrical safety.


* Trained in Mill Electrical Safety Work Practices, electrical safety requirements and procedures, as well as Arc Flash safety equipment and procedures


* Adheres to all plant safety policies.

Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.


* Performs other duties as assigned. 


* Ensures reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.


* Performs tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.


* Reads and interprets equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.


* Uses hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.


* Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools.


* Adheres to all plant safety policies.

Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, Operational Excellence, and Lean Manufacturing programs.


* Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience 



* Minimum of 3 to 5 years electrical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred


* Associates Degree in the Electrical field preferred. 

 

Knowledge and Skills 



* Demonstrates ability to operate machines, hand-tools and electrical equipment.
