Digital Underwriter

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Digital Analytics UW role is a home office underwriter reporting to Underwriting Manager in the Digital Analytics Team.

This is a project-based role and will act as a consultant to our data scientists and predictive modelers.

Person will be on the forefront of working with Product, Line of Business, Industry Practice, Home-Office and Field Underwriters to deploy Digital Capabilities in the flow business "No Underwriter Touch" business

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



* Lead and enhance the integration of underwriting concepts and practices into development of Underwriting Models, such as, Classification & Exposure etc.



* Identify opportunities to improve modeling functionality by forming craft rules which cannot be effectively parsed with standard modeling efforts.



* Collaborate with Data Scientists to understand and improve upon key data elements via model evaluation generating effective recommendations for accuracy improvement.



* Provide expert insights that support underwriting analyses and agent behavior understanding, adding credibility to team interactions with product owners and line of business managers.



* Assess accuracy of models as part of the KPI digital monthly reports and provide expert commentary on classification and exposure models.



* Guide the underwriting team in refining practices that leverage data science while driving adoption of new strategies and improvements.



* Assist in the rollout of analytical capabilities across North American Commercial lines, particularly in flow business, ensuring a deep understanding of associated challenges.



* Innovate novel solutions to improve business function and format.



* Moderate for distinct Instant Collaboration groups providing expert advice and guidance for challenging situations and questions from the field.



* Oversee the day-to-day workload coordination for onshore and off-shore analysts ensuring that work products are on time and accurate



* Oversee and manage the post bind audit process reviewing action items for accuracy before passing change suggestions to operations - providing the UW language for suitable termination of hazardous business.



* Able to inspire teams to achieve a 'high standard' by leveraging direct transactional knowledge to drive output.

Noted for having high accuracy and production volume.
