ECMO Specialist

Work Schedule :

90% FTE, 36 hours per week.

Shifts scheduled between the hours of 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, or 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.

Every third weekend and holiday rotation required.

Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an ECMO Specialist to:


* Monitor, operate, and adjust ECMO circuits and the components to maintain patient specific parameters.


* Continually assess and evaluate ECMO circuit and troubleshoot any difficulties with communication to the ECMO team.


* Partner with ECMO Coordinators and Physician Leadership to advance the ECMO program to include quality improvement and education development.


* Assist in staff training and quality and outcome review to ensure alignment with the ELSO guidelines.

Qualifications



* Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care Required


* Degree in Nursing Required


* Graduate of Perfusion Program Required


* Baccalaureate degree Preferred

Work Experience



* 1 year of critical care experience Required


* 2 years of critical care experience Preferred


* Experience teaching patients and families Required

Licenses & Certifications



* Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner AND RRT Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care Required or


* Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin Required or


* Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) as recognized by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) and State of Wisconsin Licensure as a Licensed Perfusionist Required


* BLS/CPR certified Required


* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or willingness to obtain Preferred


* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or willingness to obtain Preferred


* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or willingness to obtain Preferred


* Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) certification Preferred


* Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification Preferred


* Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred
