General Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for developing and implementing high-quality, effective communications strategies that enhance our brand and engage stakeholders through both external and internal communications supporting organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled storyteller with experience in content creation, publication relations and digital marketing.

Responsibilities include but not limited to, press releases, customer communications, electronic notifications, advertising copy, website content, web communications, customer and employee newsletters, radio and video scripts, speeches, presentations and other supporting marketing collateral for Cooperative programs, services, and its Mission and Vision.

Requirements

Education


* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Business or related discipline.



* Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience


* Two (2) years of experience in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or advertising.



* Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or advertising.



* Preferred: Experience within an electric utility or related industry.

Other Requirements


* Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including a personal computer, printers, copy machines, telephone, and fax machine.



* Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.



* A Valid Florida Driver's License for occasional travel for events and meetings.



* Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.



* Hybrid or remote work options may be available, depending on organizational needs.



* Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
