Supervising Radio Communications Technician

The County of Riverside's Sheriff's Office is seeking to fill a Supervising Radio Communications Technician position who will support the Public Safety Enterprise Communication (PSEC) System in Riverside.

Supervising Radio Communications Technician is a working title for IT Supervising Communications Technician .

The Supervising Radio Communications Technician will supervise a team responsible for the planning, organizing, constructing, installing, testing, maintaining, and programming, public safety communication equipment.

Also, the incumbent will oversee the subscriber shop, which includes scheduling staff, assisting customers, managing workflow, and completing repairs on radios, computers, and other equipment.

They will coordinate with vendors to schedule maintenance, repairs, and site visits, and ensure all service agreements are adhered to.

Additionally, the Supervisor will review and approve invoices for vendor repairs and maintenance, as well as ensure environmental documentation for PSEC remote sites is in compliance.

As a supervisor, the incumbent will provide leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring that staff performs technically advanced IT-related work effectively and meets all performance standards and deadlines.

Competitive candidates will possess relevant experience in the duties outlined, demonstrating a strong understanding of public safety communication systems.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with the technical expertise required to ensure the effective operation and repair of communication equipment in a critical public safety environment.

Additionally, experience with Motorola radio systems and public safety communication technologies as well as a background in the public sector or governmental operations are preferred.
