Consulting Staff Engineer (Field Based)
ERM is seeking a highly skilled Consulting Staff Engineer to join our client’s Semiconductor Tool Design & Engineering Services team in Boise, ID.
In this role, you will play a critical part in tool install (TI) design and construction activities, ensuring compliance with our client’s engineering standards, specifications, and best-known methods.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, process piping, mechanical systems, and controls integration, ensuring high-quality execution of engineering and construction activities.
This is a Full Time (40+hours per week) limited-term role for a duration of 1 year, extendable.
Key Responsibilities
* Owner’s Representative Role: Act as a client Owner’s Representative for ID1 Tool Install (TI) design and construction activities, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and project goals.
* Engineering & Specification Development: Generate engineering and construction specifications based on client’s best-known methods and emerging ID1 technologies.
* Utility Detail Drawings: Develop engineering standard utility detail drawings to guide tool installation projects.
* Design Package Review: Review TI general contractor (GC) design packages to ensure compliance with applicable specifications, standards, and quality expectations.
* Technical Support & Coordination: Provide technical guidance to project teams, vendors, and contractors to facilitate high-quality engineering and construction outcomes.
* Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance engineering practices to drive efficiency and standardization across tool install projects.
* Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with industry regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.
Requirements
* Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Idaho (required).
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
* 5-7 years of relevant experience in semiconductor tool design and installation.
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on engineering experience in semiconductor tool design/installation for the mechanical, electrical, and piping (MEP) disciplines.
* Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including point-of-use pollution control systems, process piping, mechanical systems, and electronic control system integration.
* Experience reviewing TI GC design packages for compliance with applicable specifications, standards, and quality expectations.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot design and construction issues.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
