Intern, Datacom Modeling
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Datacom Modeling Intern to support the development, simulation, and optimization of high-speed optical and electrical data communication systems.
* Work closely with photonics and IC engineers to develop computational models for next-generation datacom networks, including high-speed fiber-optic links and signal integrity (SI) simulations.
* System-level modeling, link simulations, and photonic-electronic co-design while contributing to cutting-edge optical interconnects for data centers, AI-driven computing, and cloud networking
Education & Experience
* Currently enrolled in Engineering
* Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Skills
* Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
* ?Ability to work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
* This position is onsite
* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary
Physical Requirements
* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings.
* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
* Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
