Optical Module Digital-Twin Intern (Master’s Program)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Digital Twin Development:
* Assist in developing and refining simulation models of optical components (e.g., lenses, waveguides, lasers, detectors) using specialized software such as Lumerical, COMSOL, Zemax, or similar.
* Implement real-time data synchronization between physical optical module prototypes and digital-twin environments.
Modeling & Simulation:
* Perform physics-based simulations to predict optical performance under varying conditions and operational parameters.
* Contribute to model calibration, verification, and validation through comparison with experimental data and lab test results.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
* Collect, preprocess, and analyze optical test data to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the digital twin.
* Create clear, concise technical reports and visualizations summarizing findings and recommendations.
Education & Experience
Education:
* Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Good academic standing and relevant coursework in optics, photonics, or electromagnetic theory is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise:
* Familiarity with optical simulation and design tools (e.g., Lumerical, COMSOL, Zemax).
* Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar languages for data analysis and automation.
* Understanding of optoelectronic devices and optical communication systems is a plus.
Skills
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
* Strong ability to troubleshoot technical challenges in modeling and simulation contexts.
* Capable of extracting meaningful insights from complex data sets and experimental results.
