Specialist, Absences & Leave Management
The Specialist, Absence Management at IHG plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of absence processes, guaranteeing that all colleagues receive their entitled time-off benefits.
This position serves as the key liaison between first-level support, hotel and corporate HR, payroll operations, and technical support teams.
The specialist will leverage their expertise to enhance the absence management process, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while providing exceptional support to colleagues and stakeholders.
Your day to day
* Policy Knowledge and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation and in-depth knowledge of all time-off plans at IHG, including eligibility and special processing requirements.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work with HR, Labor Relations, and Total Rewards teams to clarify absence policies and serve as a primary contact for inquiries from colleagues and stakeholders.
* Audit and Compliance: Conduct regular audits to ensure colleagues receive entitled time-off benefits, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
* Testing and Implementation: Support testing and implementation of updates to absence plans, collaborating with technical teams to ensure accurate system changes.
* Inquiry Management: Resolve complex inquiries related to absence management, ensuring accurate transactions and providing guidance on time-off benefits.
* Training and Support: Develop training materials and sessions for HR teams and colleagues on absence management policies, promoting effective handling of inquiries and process improvements.
What we need from you
* Experience managing absences and leaves in multi-jurisdictional and union environments, with a solid grasp of statutory requirements and compliance.
* Proficient in absence and leave management software, particularly Oracle and UKG.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and a solutions-oriented approach.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex data for informed decision-making.
* Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in fast-paced settings.
* Attention to detail and commitment to compliance, with experience in conducting audits and ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.

Location - this role can be based in any major US city and if ideal candidate is based in Atlanta our expectation is three (3) business days in the Atlanta office.
This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
The salary range for this role is $46,226 to $85,000.
This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
