Product Development Test Engineer

In the Connected Mobility Business Unit, we are at the forefront of advancing vehicle technology.

From innovative solutions such as 5G to hidden antennas, we design and manufacture products that enable flawless data transfer within the next generation of autonomous and connected vehicles.

In this role you'll be an integral part of a team responsible for d eveloping new automotive antenna products and supporting current products .

You'll translate internal and/or external customer's validation expectations into plans that can be measured and executed through projects in the product validation life cycle.

What You Will Do

• Work as part of Molex VAS global engineering team.

• Develop and design internal testing methods, apparatuses, and materials needed to achieve customer and product requirements, developing test fixtures, test setup, and test doors for functional testers.

• Develop Validation Test Plans and execute DV/PV with milestone deliverables for internal and external customers.

• Work with internal and external suppliers to facilitate validation testing needs.

• Communicate validation testing activities status to internal and external customers regularly.

• Develop and maintain databases for validation activities, including test tracking and results, validation SharePoint, and machine schedule.

• Review test lab reports from internal and external test labs.

• Prepare and submit validation test reports and present test results to customers.

• Identify validation failures, file observations, and troubleshoot mechanical failures.

Work with cross functional team members to support root-cause analysis.

• Work with the CFT team to support production and filed concerns by defining the appropriate DOEs, conducting the root-cause analysis and recommending solutions.

• Conduct comprehensive assessment through EV testing on prototype parts.

• Analyze test results and the effect of material properties, geometry, and test conditions.

• Analyze the various mechanical load conditions on the antenna components due to each test.

• Write test processes/instructions for the various customer product's specifications.

• Support Validation lab integration of technologies.

Who You Are



* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field along with 2 or more years of experience.


* Ability to understand customer technical (mechanical) specifications for automotive antennas.


* Ability to determine pass/fail criteria for the various product mechanical functions.


* In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering concepts including the behavior of components under various static, impact, fatigue load, and thermal loads


* Understanding the purpose of mechanical and environmental test (validation, design verification, continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, comparative analysis...etc.)
