Packaging Operator - Second Shift

Position: Packaging Operator – 2^nd Shift  

Pay & Hours: 


* $19.49 an hour


* Plus $1.00 per hour shift differential


* 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11:30 PM


* Possible overtime


* Flexibility to work 1st shift an average of 25% of the time

Summary: 

Packaging Operators ensure quality food manufacturing by operating equipment and performing essential tasks from production to final shipment.

Flexibility is required for overtime and up to 25% 1st shift work. 

Key Responsibilities: 


* Production & Packaging: Hand sorting, case packing, pallet stacking, and supply replenishment.


* Quality Assurance: Inspect materials, ingredients, and finished products.


* Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.


* Sanitation: Execute daily and monthly cleaning tasks per regulations.


* Documentation: Maintain compliance with process quality, food safety, and general safety programs.


* Training & Development: Learn new methods and assist in training as needed.

Requirements: 

Technical Skills: 


* Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging equipment.


* Perform routine maintenance and follow production/quality processes.


* Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.

Communication & Collaboration: 


* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.


* Read and interpret safety and operational instructions.


* Work collaboratively to meet production goals.

Physical & Safety Requirements: 


* Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physical tasks.


* Work in varying temperatures, including freezers and ovens.


* Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain GMP standards.

Additional Qualifications: 


* High school diploma or GED preferred.


* Previous food processing experience preferred.


* Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift and overtime as needed.


* Must pass background check, drug screening, and reference check per state and federal guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching.

Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work.
