Environmental Health and Safety Leader

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an Environmental, Health and Safety Leader to provide leadership and strategic direction at our Dixie facility located in Jackson, TN.

The EH&S Leader will accomplish this by building a partnership with front-line leadership and collaborating with business partners to develop and mentor the production team relating to EH&S.

In this role, the EH&S Leader establishes and optimizes systems and processes to effectively address facility EHS risk profiles.

The EH&S Leader role consists of an estimate of 80% Safety and 20% Environmental.

Georgia-Pacific Jackson is among the world's leading manufacturers of paper plates and bowls products.

We are one of the largest private manufacturers in Tennessee with more than 200 GP employees at the Jackson Facility who collectively make Dixie products each day.

The Jackson facility will contribute an overall state economic impact of millions of dollars annually, serving both retail and commercial customers.

What You Will Do



* Partner with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy consistent with Koch's Safety Vision


* Partner with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measures


* Responsible for all systems and processes that manage EHS risk at the facility (Compliance standards, compliance standard ownership model, Risk Management System, Hazard Identification and Risks Assessment (HIRA), Safety Improvement Planning, Safety Training, etc.)


* Effectively communicate facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders


* Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding EH&S ensuring the EH&S vision is developed and integrated


* Facilitate EH&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the EH&S Management System


* Drive continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talent


* Coach, mentor and develop members of the safety team


* Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation process


* Conduct routine management reviews and adjusting plans as necessary

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting


* Experience using and applying effective safety management systems
