Licensed Vocational Nurse II CN - Occupational Health and Wellness Department

The County of Riverside's Human Resources Department has an opportunity for a Licensed Vocational Nurse II - CN who will be assigned to the Occupational Health Division located in Moreno Valley.

The incumbent will work in a non-acute care environment and will perform nursing responsibilities, including executing multiple pre-employment and annual physical exams on a daily basis.

The components of these exams include audiometry, vision, drug and alcohol testing, respiratory fit testing, as well as phlebotomy.

Additionally the incumbent will administer vaccines as well as follow - up on testing results for candidates.

Qualifications:


* Candidates must hold a California vocational nursing license issued by the Board, which includes blood withdrawal certified.


* Must possess a current basic life support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.


* Have one or more years of work experience as a licensed vocational nurse, preferably in an occupational health setting.

Work Schedule:
9/80, with every other Friday off
Hours: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm

Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, performs nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of occupational/employee health patients for the Occupational Health Medical Program; and performs other related duties as required.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is not an independent practitioner.

Incumbents assigned to the LVN II - CN class have one or more years of experience working as an LVN.

Employees in a Confidential designated class are defined by Section 3.b.

of the Employee Relations Resolution, as "any employee who may be privy to the decision-making process of County management affecting employee relations" and are only authorized for use within the departments of Executive Office, Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Human Resources.
