Responsibilities:


* Ensure timely and accurate tax provision and financial reporting


* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations


* Oversee the preparation and review necessary tax returns, including corporate, partnership, sales and use, personal property for various state and local jurisdictions


* Manage tax audits and other related inquiries from tax authorities


* Develop, maintain, and reconcile tax records for Alta's consolidating entities.


* Provide guidance and support to the accounting team on all tax-related matters


* Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for the organization


* Assist with tax planning and forecasting


* Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and adjust strategies accordingly

Qualifications


* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting/Finance


* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax preparation (multi-national tax experience preferred)


* Strong, current understanding of US GAAP (specifically ASC 740), federal, state and local tax laws and regulations and SEC reporting rules and regulations preferred.


* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including ability to effectively communicate complex tax-related information to management and other stakeholders


* Capable of leading projects and working in a fast-paced environment


* Outstanding attention to detail and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy


* Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


* Able to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally and meet tight filing deadlines.


* Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Cell formatting, Conditional Formatting, etc.)


* Mathematical Skills - High: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


* Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
