Summary

The Painter will ensure timely, consistency and quality painting of all parts based on specification.

Key duties include handling all parts with care, following specs, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all lines and equipment based on safety protocol and company standards.

Job Duties

Paint a variety of automobile parts

Swap out drums as need (45–55-gallon drums)

Detect defects quickly and efficiently

Set up, teardown and clean booth, sprayers and lines

Communicate with Shift Superintendent

Meet company goals withing specified timeline

 

Requirements

2+ years of painting Exp.

Knowledge of hand sprayers and systems

Be able to pass a color test

2 years current forklift experience and certification preferred

Knowledge of paint specifics such as consistency, temps and coat thickness

Be able to lift a minimum of 50# in a team lift

Working Conditions

Availability to work subject to manufacturing needs including mandatory overtime up to 12   hours a day

Exposed to manufacturing hazards such as loud machines, moving machinery and fumes

Manual dexterity to grasp, type, squeeze and release triggers or tighten lines, move levers

This in an ambient work environment meaning cooler temps in the colder months and warmer temps in the hotter months.

Physically Demands include long periods of standing, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching side to side, overhead and below the waist.

Use of PPE’s such a respirator, full body protective suits and gloves, safety glasses and safety shoes
