Botanist (Field Based)

ERM is hiring a Botanist to conduct surveys for project efforts in Lincoln County Idaho.

This is a full-time (50hrs/week), limited-term role for a duration of  3 months extendable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Monitoring efforts include surveys for BLM special status plant species.


* Lead a team of up to 6 biologists to conduct surveys.


* General habitat experience


* Electronic data collection.


* Handheld and sub-meter accurate GPS data collection.


* Daily reporting and survey report compilation.


* Coordinating with other field team members, field coordinator, and project manager.


* Other duties as assigned or required.

REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Ecology, or related field.


* Minimum 5 years’ experience required.


* Experience working in Idaho is required.


* Must have current MSHA (Surface Miner – 30 CFR 46/48) certification.


* Ability to hike in rough terrain up to 5 miles per day in a range of temperatures.


* Ability to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions.


* Must have a strong attentional to detail in documentation of work.


* Must have strong organizational and communication skills.


* Work schedule will include weekends (Saturday) and/or over-time.


* Desire to work in the field for extended periods of time and maintain a positive attitude.


* Willingness and ability to travel as needed.


* Demonstrated independent and effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
