What are we looking for?

The AWS/CWI Special Inspector is responsible for the special inspections of construction steels, including the field welding and shop welding.

This position will travel at least 50% of the time.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $55/hr.

- $65/hr.

Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:


* Coordinate field assignments with the Field Supervisor


* Perform construction special inspections, observations and shop inspections if required


* Inform field representatives, and prepare detailed reports summarizing special inspection and observation results


* Maintain equipment and company vehicles


* Meet with Project Manager to discuss progress of field work and discuss scope of laboratory testing


* Coordinate laboratory testing with the Laboratory Supervisor


* Sample pick-up for laboratory testing

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


* High School diploma or equivalent


* 2+ years of special inspection experience


* Construction materials testing experience


* AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification


* Valid driver's license and reliable driving record


* Ability to work off shifts and overtime


* Ability to travel up to 50% of the time


* May need travel if assigned with out-of-state shop inspections


* Ability to communicate both verbal and in writing


* Excellent client relations skills


* Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
