Mechanical Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Manage major capital investment projects.
+ Projects are completed on time, within budget and achieve a return on investment.


* Supervise contracted resources while onsite for facility improvement projects.

Safety to include at a minimum; toolbox talks, daily work permits and constant supervisor presence.


* Manage various maintenance projects to solve various problems in the mill.
+ Projects are completed on time and achieve the requested goals.


* Maintain technical documents and prints.
+ Ensure all documents and prints are easily available for all plant personnel.


* Manage assigned capital projects for any area of the plant.

Also, provide assistance and

Manage electrical disciplines of other approved capital projects.


* Supply the technical support to assist all Vallourec Star personnel on a daily basis, such as trouble shooting various problems in the mill.


* Manage and maintain all technical documentation for the mill such as manuals and prints.

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:


* Strong communication skills


* Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MS EXCEL, MS Project.


* Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment


* Travel 10 % of the time to visit potential suppliers, acceptance tests and benchmarking others facilities.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:


* 4-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree.


* 5-7 years project management experience preferred.


* 5-10 years mill related experience preferred.


* Training in project management.


* 2-5yrs.

special training on high voltage equipment.


* Excellent computer skills.
