Consulting Associate, Process Safety Management (Entry Level)

ERM is seeking a Consulting Associate, Process Safety Management to join our growing Environmental Health and Safety technical team in the Hartford office.

 In this role, you will support process safety studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Support process hazard identification (PHA, HAZOP, HAZID, etc.)


* Hazardous scenarios identification and screening


* Performing and documenting SIL verification studies


* Performing and documenting reliability calculations using techniques such as Reliability Block Diagram or Fault Tree Analysis


* Frequency estimation of loss of containment of hazardous materials


* Consequence analysis and modeling for the process hazards


* Safety risk assessment for onsite personnel and third parties


* Building risk assessment


* Hazardous area classification


* Non process related hazard analysis


* Supporting HAZOP/LOPA and SIL determination studies


* Performing and documenting reliability calculations


* Preparing safety-critical reports


* Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments


* Ensure the highest quality standards are met on project deliverables.


* Build strong collaborative relationships with our clients and other ERM employees

REQUIREMENTS:


* Bachelor's in chemical engineering, occupational safety or related science degree; or equivalent experience.


* Recent graduate to 1+ years relevant experience working in regulatory compliance and sustainable EHS compliance programs.


* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.


* Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.


* Experience in gathering and analyzing safety related data.


* Experience working in High Tech, Power, Pharmaceutical or chemical sector environments.


* Ability to deliver quality deliverables in a fast pace and innovative customer environments.


* Current or planned Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) certification.

Other certifications such as ASP/CSP, CHMM, are highly desirable.


* Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.


* Ability to travel and work at client and ERM offices across North America.
