R&D Metrology Technician

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


* Performs tasks related to wafer inspection and characterization in accordance with instructions from the R&D Team.

These tasks include cleaning and inspection of wafers, running metrology tools for wafer surface and defect characterization.


* Monitors, collects and reports data from several advanced characterization and metrology tools, participates in gauge R&R exercises, performs basic data analysis under the guidance of engineers.

Maintains accurate records in accordance with procedures.


* Participates in the maintenance of metrology equipment.

Participates in troubleshooting of equipment, identifies causes and participates in in-house equipment repairs.


* Supports inventories of spare parts and materials.

Keeps materials and work areas organized and clean.


* Supports the development and evolution of operating procedures and assists in training


* Participates in FMEA activities.


* Follows all health, safety, environmental and ergonomic requirements, regulations and procedures

Education & Experience


* Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline is desirable.


* Hands-on experience in a technical field


* Exposure to a technological process, equipment maintenance, measurements and data collection are desirable


* Computer literate.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Email and Internet.

Skills


* Must be technically inclined with good mechanical skills.


* Must be well organized and able to perform several tasks in parallel.


* Must be computer-literate to operate computer-controlled equipment and make data entry.


* Ability to communicate well


* ITAR compliance requirement: Individual must be a U.S.

Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.

1324b(a)(3).

Working Conditions

Normal working hour 9-5; however, must be prepared to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends if needed, as a part of R&D work schedule.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a Cleanroom environment
