Firmware Testing Technical Expert
TES6 - Firmware, Test Principal Technical expert
Ensures delivery of the highest quality solutions for Schneider Electric Power products by planning, facilitation, execution & reporting of test campaigns and test automation.
Test Expert responsible for Firmware Testing, test automation Techniques & tools.
Lead and mentor verification engineers and support team establish internal procedures and best practices for work and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
* Analyze product requirements and derive test plans based on those requirements.
* Develop verification strategies and verification architectures.
* Create and execute test plans, test cases, and procedures for firmware testing.
* Identify and prioritize testing efforts based on key features and use cases.
* Ensure thorough testing of all aspects of the product.
* Drive automation strategy and ensure effective automation.
* Develop and maintain test automation scripts and tools.
* Contribute ideas and feedback during user requirements and specification reviews.
* Conduct reviews of test plans and automation scripts.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development and product management.
* Analyze and report test results to stakeholders.
* Identify and track defects, working with development teams to resolve them.
* Stay up to date with industry-standard software testing and development methodologies and practices.
* Execute cybersecurity pre-penetration testing features and coordinate with the pentest team.
Skill sets:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* 8+ years of experience in testing both manual and automated products and systems, including hardware, firmware, and software, within an R&D environment.
* Working experience with low voltage, medium voltage, metering products, and protection systems.
* Experience with test automation tools and lab equipment (scripting languages such as Python and automation tools like Selenium, NI TestStand).
* Experienced in functional verification of devices using various communication protocols, including Modbus, CAN, and IEC61850 or relevant Protocols.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Proficient in the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) process.
* Experience in Agile methodologies.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
* Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.
* Expertise in using packet analyzers like Wireshark and serial port sniffers, with the capability to analyze and decode frames.
