Logistics Analyst
Position Summary
This position will use a variety of tools and analytical methods to understand, predict, improve and/or control logistics operations and processes.
Responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support terminal departments, customers, and transportation groups.
Provides and communicates recommendations to senior leadership for the safe, accurate, and efficient trans-shipment facilitation of homogenous cargoes.

• Utilize, develop and continually modify required support documentation and reports required by both the terminal and customers.
Continually update TIS to provide "real time" information to terminal personnel.
• Work directly with Railroad, Vessel Agencies and customers to help coordinate traffic and develop strategies that ensure terminal efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Prepare pre-loading vessel documentation and blending instructions.
• Prepare post-loading vessel documentation and inventory reduction.
• Perform railcar and stockpile inventory management.
• Be an active participant in the development of TIS.
• Utilize existing database and mainframe systems to manage and perform inventory control / analysis.
Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot terminal inventory activities.
Provide required support documentation.
• Actively cross train incoming Traffic and Control Room personnel in coal traffic operations to develop sufficient back up.
• Perform supervisory functions as required to ensure continuity during any absence.
• Provide “back-up” coverage for Control Room Operator.
Perform control room functions as required to ensure continuity during any operator absence.
• Perform back-up coverage for other Traffic Department members.
• Perform special projects assigned by Maintenance / Operations teams and self-created projects that enable the terminal to efficiently meet its needs
• Coordinate, manage and conduct the Terminal’s Biannual Scale Certifications and track scale data.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or Min.
3 years of experience in a related field required.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Terminal’s operations is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
Familiarity with Oracle desirable.
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
