Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:


* Maintain cleanliness of all public and common areas, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.


* Clean and sanitize resident rooms and bathrooms.


* Keep handrails free of dirt and debris.


* Dust and clean walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.


* Empty trash cans and replace liners.


* Sweep and mop floors.


* Follow proper safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing cleaning supplies out of residents' reach.


* Operate housekeeping equipment and supplies according to safety guidelines.


* Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.


* Report resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.


* Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:


* High school diploma or GED required.


* Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.

Skills & Abilities:


* Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.


* Excellent time management and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


* Ability to read and follow written instructions and manuals.


* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).


* Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle various tasks and instructions in different formats.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:


* Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.


* Regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear.


* Use of housekeeping and office equipment, including copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.


* Work environment is generally low to moderate in noise and odor levels.
