Job Description and Responsibilities

Join EVRAZ North America as a Purchasing Agent, where your expertise will drive efficiency and innovation across our supply chain.

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for market trends, cost-effectiveness, and supplier relationships, ensuring that our company acquires the highest quality products at the best prices while maintaining inventory efficiency.



* Product Sourcing & Purchasing: Research, source, and purchase high-quality products and materials, ensuring timely delivery at competitive prices


* Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules


* Inventory Management: Work closely with the Commissioning team, Materials and Operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring product availability and minimizing excess inventory


* Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends and industry changes, identifying new suppliers or cost-saving opportunities


* Order Management: Create purchase orders, monitor order status, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery


* Cost Control: Review supplier invoices, analyze pricing trends, and collaborate with finance to ensure that budget guidelines are adhered to


* Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet company quality standards and resolve any issues with defective or non-conforming goods


* Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor communications, and inventory levels; prepare purchasing reports for management

Requirements


* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred


* 2 years in a purchasing, procurement or warehouse supervisory role.

Experience in steel or heavy manufacturing is a plus


* Strong negotiation and communication skills


* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


* Experience with purchasing software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (Oracle or SAP) is a plus


* Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal teams


* Analytical mindset with an understanding of financial metrics related to purchasing


* Strong business acumen with aptitude for learning, growing and process improvement

Compensation


* $77,000 - $85,000
