Per Diem Nurse - Option 2 - Inpatient – Medical Surgical & Short Stay

Work Schedule :

Per Diem Registered Nurses must commit to work a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours per six (6) week scheduling period as follows: i.

Inpatient, Radiology, and Dialysis: At least twenty-four (24) hours of the seventy-two (72) hours must be weekend shift hours and at least twenty-four (24) hours of the seventy-two (72) hours must be scheduled for the evening or night shift.

These hours can be combined to meet the requirements.

A minimum of one (1) summer and one (1) winter holiday may be required.

* 28-bed unit with a diverse medical/surgical patient population which provides nurses with the ability to utilize their expertise in assessment and intervention.


* Patients may be admitted with an expected short stay post operatively, for a medical condition or until they transition to a specific nursing unit.


* Patients are received from multiple services such as Emergency Department, Operative Services, interhospital transfers and direct admissions from clinics, or patient homes.

Education


* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience


* Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.

* eICU: Two (2) years of nursing experience Required


* Relevant RN Experience Preferred
