Key Responsibilities

Claims Submission and Processing:


* Accurately review and submit DME claims in a timely manner.


* Ensure compliance with insurance payer policies and billing guidelines.


* Verify patient eligibility and coverage for DME services.

Documentation Review:


* Analyze medical records, prescriptions, and supporting documentation for accuracy.


* Address and correct discrepancies before submitting claims.

Coding and Modifiers:


* Apply correct HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 codes for DME procedures.


* Ensure proper use of modifiers (e.g., KX, GA, GZ) based on payer policies.

Communication and Follow-Up:


* Collaborate with physicians, insurance providers, and patients to resolve billing issues.


* Monitor unpaid claims, rejections, or denials and follow up promptly.

Compliance and Reporting:


* Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.


* Stay informed on changes in DME billing regulations and insurance policies.


* Generate and analyze reports to track claim statuses and support audits.

Qualifications


* Experience in medical billing, especially DME, is a plus.


* Advanced skills in billing software, EHR systems, and attention to detail.


* Strong communication and analytical skills.


* Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification is a plus.
