The County of Riverside's Transportation and Land Management Agency is looking for an Associate Engineer to join their Plan Check Section located in Riverside.

This position plays a crucial role in the review and approval process of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMP) and Hydrology/Hydraulic Studies prepared by private engineers, ensuring quality and timely evaluations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing Entitlement Exhibits, Final Maps, improvement plans, and grading plans, ensuring all documents comply with relevant codes and regulations.

The position also serves as a technical resource, acting as the primary point of contact for private development engineers and customers concerning WQMP and drainage-related inquiries.

Additionally, the role requires coordination with multiple internal and external entities, including Building and Safety, Economic Development, Grading Inspection, Survey, Flood Control, Planning/Land Use, and others, to facilitate the approval and permitting of private development projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines are essential.

The Associate Engineer should have a strong work ethic, with a focus on ensuring high-quality work in every aspect of the review process.

This position requires a professional who has a strong understanding of the entitlement process and grading plan reviews and is eager to learn and grow in the field.

The role will also require the ability to address conflicts and technical questions, ensuring smooth communication between all parties involved.

The Associate Engineer is a natural progression underfill for the Associate Civil Engineer.

Incumbents are eligible to promote to Associate Civil Engineer upon attaining a valid certification of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

This position will have a 9/80 schedule.
