As a Platform Operator for our Distribution Center, you will operate the conveyor console to control automated conveyor system that receives, sorts, distributes, and conveys merchandise to and from loading dock and storage area, and between departments or processes.

Day-in-the-Life of a Stocker:


* Operates control panel for conveyor system and regulates speed of conveyors.


* Observes materials or products moving on conveyors or observes lights on control panel to monitor flow and operation of system.


* Operates control panels to route order to designated areas and to raise, lower, and align conveyor with specific adjoining conveyors.


* Coordinates between departments to align building conveyor activity with sortation system.


* Manages sortation systems for continuous movement and clears problem freight that is obstructing continuous movement of freight.

Stops equipment and clears jams, using hand tools.


* Observes operation to detect equipment malfunction.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs.
Ability to speak, comprehend and read English in the written form required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus 2 years warehouse and material handling equipment experience; required.
