Shift Engineer

As a Shift Engineer, we will support you to:

As an integral role within the business, the Shift Engineer will maintain all health and safety records (fire pumps test, emergency generator test, fire alarm test etc), manage engineering contractors during out of hours shift and report shortfalls in performance.
Ensure mechanical & electrical equipment operates to optimum efficiency, Carryout planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensure tools are returned after use. Maintain all records of the water treatment for steam, hot water domestic, cold water domestic, heating, and cooling system ensuring the correct amount of chemicals are always used.
Respond to all guest engineering requests while on shift be a member of the hotel emergency response team including attending to emergency lift release requests and supporting guest during emergency situations.
Support the Rooms Technicians, identify and report potential energy saving initiatives whilst maintaining a safe environment for themselves their colleagues and our Guests.
Critical Expertise & Recent experience:
* Experience and knowledgeable on Electrical and Mechanical systems
* Good knowledge of Building Services, Air Handling Unit pumps, pipework lay out etc.
* Experience in having responsibility for testing and record keeping for fire, life, and safety systems, taking remedial action on any Plant, Gas and Air Ventilation equipment in line with legal requirements and safety standards.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
* Trained in and application of IHG Way of Preventative Maintenance.
* Knowledge of appropriate hotel systems to support operational processes such as service optimization tool (Quore/Hotsos/Knowcross) and the Building Management System.
* Has knowledge of appropriate brand standards relating to areas of accountability.
