Job Title: Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Nurse to lead and manage quality assurance programs aimed at enhancing resident care.
The QA Nurse will develop, implement, and coordinate initiatives to monitor and improve clinical practices, quality of life, and resident choice in accordance with regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure continuous improvement in care delivery and outcomes, while also overseeing the infection control program and addressing adverse events.
Key Responsibilities
* Quality Assurance Programs: Plan, organize, and oversee the development and execution of comprehensive QA and assessment programs designed to improve resident care and overall facility performance.
* Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor care trends and prepare quality reports for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee.
Provide insights and recommendations based on findings.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the QAPI Committee to assess systems of care, including clinical care, quality of life, and resident choice.
Collaborate with the IDT to identify and implement education and training needs based on identified trends.
* Adverse Event Management: Track, monitor, and investigate adverse events.
Develop and implement action plans to address identified issues and improve care delivery.
* Infection Control Oversight: Oversee the facility's Infection Control Program, ensuring proper identification, reporting, surveillance, and investigation of communicable diseases and infections.
* Regulatory Compliance: Assist in addressing and correcting State and Federal survey deficiencies.
Participate in quality-related training sessions such as HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, and Infection Control.
* Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality and report any suspected breaches of confidentiality in accordance with facility policies.
* Continuous Improvement: Actively engage in identifying areas for improvement and provide actionable feedback to staff at all levels.
Ensure that facility practices align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Education & Experience:
+ Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC).
+ Specialized training in QAPI or QAPI Certification is highly desirable.
* Skills & Abilities:
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and create detailed reports.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
