Mill Operator
Your Job
1.
Compounding - Correctly weigh and mix raw materials in proper sequence following a formula sheet.
2.
Rubber Mixing (Mill Operation) - Operate a Two-roll mill to mix and blend polymers (rubber).
3.
Adjust space between rollers to regulate thickness of rubber using wrenches.
4.
Cut and blend rubber during milling process using a cutting knife.
5.
Cut rubber sheets from Mill using a cutting knife and weight Rubber-preps as needed.
6.
Extrusion operation - Prepare molding preforms through an extruder equipment.
7.
Setup Dies/molds on extruder machine for prescribed shapes using wrenches.
8.
Load Rubber and operates extruder machine.
9.
Observe color and surface characteristics of rubber.
10.
Turn valves on water / equipment lines to maintain temperatures.
11.
Cut samples of product for laboratory tests using a knife or Scissors
12.
Clean equipment (mill, trays, rollers, guide, and extruder barrel) removing remainder rubber and raw materials.
13.
Inspect machinery for lubrication and to detect mechanical malfunction
14.
Organize raw materials on storing racks.
15.
Clean/organize working area.
16.
Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
