Structural Engineer I

Ardurra is seeking a Structural Engineer I, to join our staff in our Wilmington or Raleigh, North Carolina office.

Primary Function:

The Structural Engineer will conduct analysis and design work for structural engineering projects of varying sizes, types, and complexities.

This role involves working on a range of building systems, including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

The engineer will also get to work on the design, analysis, and assessment of structures related to water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure projects.

This opportunity offers experience in design engineering, planning, and code interpretation for analyzing and evaluating designs of steel, concrete, and masonry materials used in low to mid-rise buildings and other specialized structures.

Work will be conducted under the mentorship and guidance of experienced, licensed engineers within the team.

Primary Duties:


* Perform analysis and detailed design of vertical structures including buildings, platforms, equipment supports, which conform with acceptable design standards.


* Prepare engineering calculations and engineering sketches and review drawings and BIM Models.


* Work on Teams that complete multiple projects and assume responsibility for project execution within required timeframes.


* Communicate with team members and clients to provide timelines and project updates on a consistent basis.

Education and Experience Requirements:


* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural coursework is preferred (or working to complete within the next year)


* NC EIT certification (upon completing degree)


* 0-4 years’ minimum experience in the civil engineering field


* Strong computer skills a plus including experience with AutoCAD and REVIT a plus.


* Proven writing and design skills
