Summary:

As a State Tested Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct patient care by assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, mealtime support, and basic nursing tasks under the guidance of licensed nursing staff, ensuring patient comfort and safety in accordance with established standards and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



* Patient Care:

+ Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
+ Monitor vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations) as directed.
+ Provide mealtime assistance including serving meals, feeding patients as needed, and documenting dietary intake.
+ Assist with incontinence care, including changing briefs and maintaining skin integrity.
+ Perform basic wound care as instructed by nursing staff.


* Patient Safety and Comfort:

+ Maintain a clean and safe patient environment by changing linens, tidying rooms, and properly disposing of waste.
+ Use proper body mechanics to safely transfer and reposition patients.
+ Report any changes in patient condition, including vital signs, behavior, or pain to the nurse immediately.
+ Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of disease.


* Documentation and Communication:

+ Accurately document patient care activities in electronic medical records.
+ Communicate effectively with nursing staff, other healthcare team members, and patients regarding patient needs and status.
+ Follow established communication guidelines and report any concerns promptly.

Qualifications:



* Required:

+ Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in the state of practice.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
+ Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.


* Preferred:

+ Previous experience as a nursing assistant in a healthcare facility.
+ Demonstrated compassion and empathy for patients.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
