Fleetman
Overview
The Fleetman is responsible for monitoring the barge fleet and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
This position plays a key role in managing fleet activities, coordinating vessel movements, and maintaining the overall security and efficiency of fleet operations.
Responsibilities
* Monitor barge fleet operations to ensure safe and efficient fleet management.
* Coordinate fleet activities, including assigning horsepower for barge movements to and from docks locally.
* Communicate effectively with Traffic and Operations personnel via computer systems and other communication tools.
* Maintain accurate records and logs related to fleet movements, mooring equipment, and operational activities.
* Ensure all mooring equipment is properly secured and maintained for operational safety.
* Conduct regular facility housekeeping activities, including maintaining supplies and keeping the workspace organized.
* Monitor and uphold safety and environmental compliance in accordance with company policies and regulations.
* Work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including both day and night shifts.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager of Fleet Operations
Qualifications
* Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and minimal supervision.
* Capable of operating standard office equipment, including computers and phones.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work in outdoor environments and handle physical tasks related to fleet operations.
* Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
* Must be able to meet all company safety standards and physical requirements of the position.
* Must have valid TWIC Card
Education/Experience:
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Previous marine industry experience preferred but not required.
