Construction Manager - Substations

Minnesota Power is seeking a Construction Manager to join its Engineering Services team to provide professional and technical leadership to the construction and project management group, with a focus on substation utility work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Provide oversight, training, and documentation of daily operations.


* Act as a key liaison with project managers, ensures effective communication and coordination while assuming responsibility for construction management activities, including documenting daily construction observations, reviewing and communicating field results, ensuring compliance with the accepted standards, ensure contractors are following plans and specifications, managing communication of schedule changes, coordination, operational outage planning, and general oversight of contractors.


* Ensure internal and external consultants/contractors follow Company standards and safety requirements.


* Work as a collaborative team member with the ability to seek and execute prompt solutions, at time independently.


* Requires appropriate skills to supervise multiple, often complex, construction sites/projects that may be remote from each other.


* Requires a commitment to quality and safety, and excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
