Chief Financial Officer

Westminster Communities of Florida, a nationally recognized not-for-profit faith based organization, is searching for a Chief Financial Officer.  Westminster Communities of Florida is a national leader in senior living and dedicated to a Mission and ministry of service to older adults.  Founded in 1954, Westminster is a fiscally strong, not-for-profit organization serving more than 7,000 residents in Life Plan Communities and affordable Rental Retirement Communities.

Our communities offer independent living, assisted living, nursing care, home care, pharmacy services, affordable housing for low-income seniors and more.

The CFO is accountable for the administrative, financial, Information Technology and risk management operations of the company, including the development of financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to those strategies, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PLANNING


* Assist in formulating the organization’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives


* Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic Mission plans


* Develop financial and tax strategies


* Manage the capital request and budgeting processes


* Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

OPERATIONS


* Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team


* Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team


* Manage the accounting, investment, legal, tax, and insurance relations


* Oversee the financial operations of all corporations


* Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced


* Oversee the company's transaction processing systems


* Identify and implement best practices


* Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions

FINANCIAL INFORMATION


* Oversee the issuance of financial information


* Personally review and approve all filings with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation


* Report financial results to the board of directors and the executive management team

RISK MANAGEMENT


* Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile


* Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry


* Construct and monitor reliable control systems


* Maintain appropriate insurance coverage


* Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements


* Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies


* Report risk issues to the Chief Executive Officer and, if significant, to the audit committee of the Board of Directors
